Dental Services Provided By SunWest Dental
SunWest Dental Chandler provides a wide range of dental services to meet your oral health needs. Dr. Cheyanne Fazeli and her team look forward to working with you whether you require routine cleaning, want to improve your smile with cosmetic dentistry, need oral surgery, or have another common dental concern. Below is a brief description of each of the services we offer.
A dental bridge replaces a single missing tooth or several consecutive missing teeth on the same arch. Your dentist may recommend a bonded, cantilever, or traditional dental bridge based on the location of the missing tooth and the strength of the nearby teeth. Typically, a dental bridge requires support of the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth to stay in place. The dentist attaches brackets to the back of these teeth and a replacement tooth in the gap in your smile.
Have you always heard that stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth are just something you have to accept? Perhaps you have a large gap between two teeth that has always bothered you. Whatever you would like to improve about your smile, a cosmetic dentistry procedure can help. We encourage you to schedule a consultation to learn more about everything we have to offer.
A dental crown, sometimes called a dental cap, goes over the top of the chewing surface of a back tooth to help restore it. This is often necessary due to deep cracks in a tooth, decay that your dentist cannot treat with typical filling material, or to protect a tooth that has just received a root canal. Dr. Fazeli will need to remove some of the top part of your tooth first before installing your crown.
Whether you are missing one tooth, several teeth, or all natural teeth, removable dentures are one option you have to replace them. If you still have some natural teeth, our staff will take extra care to match the shade of your new replacement teeth to the existing ones as closely as possible. You will typically need to schedule several appointments in the process of receiving dentures to allow your dentist the opportunity to take an impression and create a customized treatment plan.
Although we always try to preserve natural teeth at SunWest Dental Chandler, sometimes it isn’t possible. For example, you may have experienced too much trauma to a tooth or it has too much decay for us to save it. Patients may also need to have teeth removed that serve no useful purpose such as wisdom teeth and one tooth growing on top of another.
Keeping up with your bi-annual hygiene appointments is one of the most important things you can do for your oral health. Our hygienists thoroughly clean, polish, and floss your teeth before Dr. Fazeli inspects them for potential issues. Without this appointment, you could go months or years with an undetected oral health issue that will eventually require costly and invasive treatment.
Over the last several years, dental implants have quickly become the dental restoration of choice. Patients appreciate that their replacement teeth look and function just as their natural teeth do. The dental implant procedure also involves replacing missing tooth roots. This is important because it prevents facial sagging and shifting of other teeth while offering strength and stability at the same time.
You may require oral surgery for a variety of reasons. The most common ones include the removal of wisdom teeth, removal of teeth damaged by trauma to the mouth or severe decay, root canals, and surgery of the jaw. We will always tell you the reason we recommend oral surgery and answer any questions you have about it in advance. On the day of your procedure, we make sure that the area we need to work on is numb and that you feel calm and comfortable.
Restorative dentistry is similar to cosmetic dentistry in that its purpose is to improve the patient’s smile. However, the latter is purely for aesthetic purposes while restorative dentistry is to improve the function and health of teeth. Dental crowns and implants are two common examples of restorative dentistry.
Each of your teeth contains pulp inside of its chambers that can become infected. When that happens, you can experience significant pain, difficulty chewing, and several other symptoms. The purpose of a root canal is to clean the tooth from the inside out and remove the infection. Your dentist will place a crown on the tooth towards the end of the procedure to ensure that bacteria doesn’t invade it and cause another infection or even an abscess.
We offer many opportunities for you to receive treatment for an oral health concern in a single appointment on the same day. For example, we encourage you to contact us immediately if your have an urgent concern you feel needs immediate treatment. We can also complete many cosmetic procedures in a single appointment.
Professional teeth whitening is one of our most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures. Unlike store-bought kits that often produce disappointing results, you will leave our office with a smile several shades brighter than when you walked in. We use a professional-grade cleansing gel that penetrates your teeth at the deepest level to remove staining and return your teeth to the beautiful white that you knew as a child.
A veneer attaches to the front surface of your tooth to disguise a minor imperfection such as a chip or stain. It is also an ideal cosmetic treatment when you want to eliminate a larger than normal gap between two teeth. Your dentist may need to remove a small amount of enamel from your tooth to ensure that the veneer fits properly.
